Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make changes to my template design once it's launched?
Of course, any change – large or small – can be arranged at an hourly rate. Let us know what you have in mind and we can submit a proposal. The foundation of the website is already taken care of, so making changes to the design is a pretty simple process, in most cases. Even if you want a complete overhaul, you’ll still be saving compared to a new custom build.
If you want to change the copy or content, you will be taught how to make those updates yourself, if you wish to do so. Our Fully Managed Auto-Pilot Care Plan includes one hour of content updates per month.
How long does the process typically take?
From start to finish, your website can be launched within a week. We ask for 24 hours to respond to your inquiry, and if the Onboarding Form is completed within 24 hours we can finish the template in 3-4 days.
Complex templates and extensive changes can prolong the process by another week. However, this timeline does not include content creation, that can take up to a month for standard website copy. If you are not enrolling in a hosting plan with Universal Code, the migration to your web host may take an extra week.
What happens once the website is launched?
If you are hosting with Universal Code, there is nothing left to be done. We take care of the maintenance so you don’t need to devote any time thinking about routine updates or security precautions. You will receive a basic analytics report each quarter, unless you are enrolled in Care Plans that include advanced monthly reports. Once a year we will schedule a time to review your website needs and goals.
What if I want to manage my site myself?
When we migrate your website to the web host of your choice, we configure some automated settings. Your website will automatically update, but you will need to monitor your website for any updates that break the function or design. Backups are set to run every week, sending the files to the storage method of your choice, ensuring anything that breaks can be easily returned to normal.
When your website is launched, we provide you a Website Owner’s Handbook – a comprehensive guide to help you with edits, maintenance and troubleshooting. Don’t worry, you can always ask us for help without any obligation to utilize our After Care services – hourly services are always available to any previous client.
